"After the group returns to their inn, they talk about confronting the Screaming Phoenix Killer. C\u00e1n Y\u00fan is determined to fight W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng in a duel the next morning, because he considers himself expendable and because, if he wins, then he would make a name for himself. X\u00edng H\u00e0i offers her help in the form of spells. Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo, however, feels that confrontation should only be used as a last resort. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n gets tired of the talk and decides to head off on his own. He goes to the Devilwood Flower Garden himself and asks W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng to hand over the Soul Echo Flute. W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng refuses and they prepare to battle, but Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo diffuses the situation and asks W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng the favor of becoming the performer of the Soul Echo Flute; in exchange, Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo propositions W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng his head once they have reached the summit of the Demon Spine Mountains. W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng agrees. Meanwhile, Mi\u00e8 Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i suspects that Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo's group will head to him."

"B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n is worried that the group cannot work together, as everyone is suspicious of each other. However, he still accompanies them as they ride a boat to the Demon Spine Mountains. Upon arrival to shore, the group encounters the Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng, led by Li\u00e8 M\u00e8i and Di\u0101o M\u00ecng. C\u00e1n Y\u00fan is motivated by W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng to attack and takes care of the \"cannon fodder,\" while H\u00e0i and Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o work together to raise the dead created by C\u00e1n Y\u00fan. W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng finally attacks after all the soldiers have been taken care of, killing Li\u00e8 M\u00e8i. Suddenly, Mi\u00e8 Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i shows up."

"The group arrives at the Demon Spine Mountains, encountering the Valley of the Dead, the first trial."

"After B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n storms off, F\u011bi admonishes the groups and runs after him. Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo also follows her. The remaining four comrades decide to pass through the Labyrinth of Darkness using the Soul Echo Flute. Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo and F\u011bi find B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n spying on some Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng soldiers, who are trying to catch more demon birds. The three of them ambush the Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng and use a bone-whistle to call the demon birds and ride them to the Seven Sins Tower. Once they arrive, they find Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i waiting for them. F\u011bi immediately attacks him, seeking vengeance for her brother and to obtain the hilt of the Ti\u0101n X\u00edng Ji\u00e0n. However, Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo sprays F\u011bi with smoke, causing her to attack B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n instead. Di\u0101o M\u00ecng then knocks out F\u011bi and arrests B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n. They are then thrown into cages, where they are found by the other four. Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o reveals Gu\u01d0 Ni\u01ceo's other name, Enigmatic Gale (L\u00fc\u00e8 F\u0113ng Qi\u00e8 Ch\u00e9n), while F\u011bi reveals his real name, L\u01d0n Xu\u011b Y\u0101."

"Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o and X\u00edng H\u00e0i reveal that their letters from L\u01d0n Xu\u011b Y\u0101 asked them to swindle F\u011bi of her crossguard. W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng affirms this with the letter he stole from Xu\u011b Y\u0101's teacher, Li\u00e1n Q\u00ed. C\u00e1n Y\u00fan is shaken up by this turn of events, but still follows the other three as they leave B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n and F\u011bi in their cells. W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng returns to the Tower, though, seeking Xu\u011b Y\u0101's head as promised. Meanwhile, Xu\u011b Y\u0101 and Mi\u00e8 Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i are having a discussion about the Ti\u0101n X\u00edng Ji\u00e0n. W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng interrupts this discussion, though, and before going after Xu\u011b Y\u0101, challenges Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i to a duel. Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i slays W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng, and explains his swordsmanship to Xu\u011b Y\u0101. While this happens, B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n breaks out of his cell."

"After B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n exits his cell, he sees W\u00fa Sh\u0113ng fighting through endless streams of Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng fodder. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n picks up a sword from a dead soldier and continues searching the Seven Sins Tower for L\u01d0n Xu\u011b Y\u0101. He then spots Xu\u011b Y\u0101 and Di\u0101o M\u00ecng, and hides. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n confronts Xu\u011b Y\u0101 after Di\u0101o M\u00ecng leaves. Xu\u011b Y\u0101 then explains his plan to B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n, and explains that both Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o and X\u00edng H\u00e0i are villains that would take the Ti\u0101n X\u00edng Ji\u00e0n for themselves. All Xu\u011b Y\u0101 wants to do is make Mi\u00e8 Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i despair. Xu\u011b Y\u0101 also reveals the hiding place of the crossguard\u2014the Limitless Temple. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n then meets with F\u011bi and tells her the plan and to stay in the cell. Meanwhile, Xu\u011b Y\u0101 sets up a deal with Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i. Afterwards, Xu\u011b Y\u0101 meets with B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n again and gives him a hood that changes his appearance to that of Xu\u011b Y\u0101. They then begin to carry out Xu\u011b Y\u0101's plan. At the same time, C\u00e1n Y\u00fan breaks F\u011bi out of her cell."

"B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n, disguised as Xu\u011b Y\u0101, meets with Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i, who becomes very suspicious, and together with the Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng, ride their demon birds to the Limitless Temple. As this happens, Xu\u011b Y\u0101 discovers that Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o and X\u00edng H\u00e0i also met with Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i. He then goes to unlock the safe containing the hilt of the Ti\u0101n X\u00edng Ji\u00e0n, transforming his pipe into chopsticks. Erstwhile, after B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n receives the gold agreed upon for the crossguard of the Ti\u0101n X\u00edng Ji\u00e0n, he is questioned by Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i and Di\u0101o M\u00ecng, who have already seen through his disguise. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n then acts as bait to allow Xu\u011b Y\u0101 to finish his part. However, Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i had kept the hilt on him the entire time. Meanwhile, C\u00e1n Y\u00fan and F\u011bi also head to the Limitless Temple by way of a Spirit Tree."

"After escaping, B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n happens upon C\u00e1n Y\u00fan and F\u011bi. He learns Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o and H\u00e0i stole the crossguard and intend to sell it to Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i. Suddenly, Di\u0101o M\u00ecng and the Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng show up and attack the three of them. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n shows his true colors and fights with a wooden branch. After killing Di\u0101o M\u00ecng and the Xu\u00e1n Gu\u01d0 Z\u014dng, B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n explains his philosophy as the three of them head to the Du\u00e0n Ji\u00e0n C\u00ed. Meanwhile, Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o and H\u00e0i meet with Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i at the Du\u00e0n Ji\u00e0n C\u00ed. After removing the sword from the pedestal, Y\u0101o T\u00fa L\u00ed is revealed, the lost demon god. H\u00e0i then kills Y\u00fan Xi\u0101o for trying to prevent the awakening of the demon god. Xu\u011b Y\u0101 confronts Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i outside the Du\u00e0n Ji\u00e0n C\u00ed after H\u00e0i leaves."

"Xu\u011b Y\u0101 duels Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i, with Xu\u011b Y\u0101 crushing Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i's spirit. Because of this, Ti\u0101n H\u00e1i destroys the Ti\u0101n X\u00edng Ji\u00e0n, releasing Y\u0101o T\u00fa L\u00ed from the binding. B\u00f9 Hu\u00e0n decides to face Y\u0101o T\u00fa L\u00ed. He defeats the demon god by channeling the power of one of the thirty-six swords he collected from his travels, and banishes the demon god to the far reaches of space, ending the threat once and for all. He leaves the sword in the care of C\u00e1n Y\u00fan and F\u011bi, and departs, but not before receiving a parting gift from Xu\u011b Y\u0101."
